Interview with Elite 2A Pay customer Justin McHorse, Operations Manager at Roman Arms, LLC
We recently spoke with Justin about their switch to Elite 2A Pay for their payment processing. Roman Arms is a family-owned and operated company, providing innovative and custom finishes with the latest techniques available since 2013. They are one of the few factory-certified remote certification facilities that provide training and certification to business owners wanting to add Cerakote applications to their products. Their custom designs are created by true artists who pay attention to every little detail. They are so confident in their process that they have perfected, they offer a guarantee against chipping, cracking, or flaking off.
When Paige Turner, Elite 2A Pay Account Executive and Cerakote industry specialist, first contacted Justin at Roman Arms, he was hesitant but curious about this company that claimed to be a Pro2A, firearms-friendly credit card processor, but because he was frustrated with his current processor, he listened to what Paige had to say.
What caused Roman Arms to look for a new payment processor?
Mostly the exorbitance & frequency of costs & fees (initial and recurring) and the terrible Customer Service of our current (at that time) processor. The cost of initial “setup & integration” nearly exceeded $1000, including hardware, and each additional processing station added over time was around $700 with hardware & integration. None of this was disclosed before initial agreements OR at the time of purchase of the equipment.
Can you describe your experience onboarding?
Our onboarding experience was very painless. Most/all of the delay in swapping providers was our own hesitation because “it seemed too good to be true”. Once we did our own research and reviewed everything C/S provided, it was clear that there was no reason not to switch. Within 4 days of initial paperwork completion, we had our processors in hand and in service. Elite2A knew exactly what they had to offer, expressed it very clearly, and upon due diligence, it quickly became apparent to us as well.
Why would you recommend that a business in the firearms industry contact Elite 2A Pay?
I think any business, in any industry can benefit hugely from what Elite 2A Pay has to offer, but within the firearm industry specifically, it is VERY hard to find a processor that will provide this service without TONS of limitations, red tape, “high risk” fee assessment, or complete seizure of funds (as we’ve experienced in the past), simply because of the industry we work in, despite being completely legal & moral (by most definitions, especially from people looking for goods & services within this industry). Most other companies we looked at or tried all had increased or additional fees associated with being “high risk” or simply refused to offer the services entirely. Elite 2A Pay does none of this. They simply process the payments at a fraction of the cost of competitors and ask/say nothing about it. Coupled with the level of customer service and money savings that they offer, it really is a perfect partnership for any business in the firearms industry.
What makes Elite 2A Pay different from other payment processors you’ve worked with?
As mentioned in previous questions, the biggest things that set Elite 2A Pay apart are their customer service, ease of use/setup, and cost savings. Literally ZERO startup costs (including equipment) is such a huge thing, especially for small businesses, and the savings don’t stop there.
